Winter Birding at Plum Island
Sponsored by Broad Meadow Brook Wildlife Sanctuary
Sun, Jan 11, 2015 10:00 am - 7:00 pm
Location: Worcester to Plum Island
Instructors: Alex Dunn - Birder and Natural History Guide; Martha Gach - Conservation Coordinator

Search for winter ducks and raptors along the coast.  We'll head for Salisbury Beach, then Joppa Flats for lunch, and Parker River National Refuge until dusk in hopes of seeing short-eared owls. The van leaves Broad Meadow Brook Visitor Center at 10 am, returning by 7. Snowy owls, northern harriers, and northern pintail are among recent sightings at the refuge.

Instructions and Directions: Bring a lunch, drink, and heavy snacks. Dress warmly in layers for moderate walking. Binoculars and your favorite field guide are recommended; we will have loaners and a scope.
